Recoiled Fear

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.
                                1 John 4:18 | NASB

Why is it that we never quote the rest of this verse? Fear involves punishment, a recoil of sin. Love perfected is one without sin.
Many Christians today explain away their sins with excuses, living with a carnal warped view of love. Everything short of perfect. To live in fear of punishment from God is not trusting God.
But the one who man’s-up (or woman’s-up) is found surrounded with the love of God.
Own up to it! You’re not perfect by any stretch of the imagination! Don’t live in fear of God’s wrath but live in his love.

Be blessed and be a blessing!

Truth or Error

God will not give you a neon sign!

They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.         1 John 4:5-6 | NASB

The world is full. Full of itself. It’s in error to the truth of God’s word and the testimony of Jesus. The Greek word for error here is Planos meaning a wondering, leading astray, deceived. We know that we were once living this lifestyle until Jesus found us. It’s in our own selfish nature to want to go to the way of error when things don’t go according to plan. The children of Israel did the same.

John was dealing with some issues pertaining to false teachers popping up here and there in his letter. He’s making the distinction between Truth and lies, discerning true walk and call verses the world. The world has never listed and probably never will until the Lord’s return.

Question to consider:

How do you know the difference between the spirit of Truth and spirit of error?

Be Blessed!

You’ve Been Approved!

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.                          ~ James 1:12 |NASB

What will your crown look like? Does it really matter?

Approval only comes when your trial is over. The trial James refers to is the testing of your character, morals, and faith. If you lack these, I can tell you that there won’t be much pressure.

Faith is your approval guaranteed. It doesn’t take much and all God asks is that you use the measure He bestows upon you as an act of good faith.

God doesn’t ask for a co-sign or collateral…He offers himself in exchange for you—straight trade. What a deal! Not to mention a life-long crown that we will continually throw at His feet.

Your approval has been pre-authorized and awaits your signature—one of the lines in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Make sure you’re ready to receive the crown!

And to Jesus, the Mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:24 | NASB

Jesus makes a way to approach the trembling mountain by His own sacrificial blood. Sinai was unapproachable, but Jesus being transfigured once on the mountain before the witnesses of Peter, James, and John makes a way by transforming our hearts and the mountain itself. The power of the Almighty transforms everything, including the mountain from the Law to Love.

The journey we take from unrighteousness to righteousness is infact moving from Sinai to Zion. The shed blood on the cross and the resurrection of life eternal through Christ Jesus transfigures us and our mountain that we are chained to. No longer is it a mountain of doom and gloom, but of hope and peace for righteousness sake.

The New Covenant prepared by God in offering His only Son, speaks better or testifies truer than the blood of Abel because the blood of Jesus has redemptive purposes and not vengeance. We are not adopters of the Kingdom by violence but by love, and love only. The Zionic model that Jesus exemplified is love from the Father, and then that same love shown to our neighbors.

The sprinkled blood had, and still has a purpose today. Whereas the slain blood of murder through jealousy, envy, and strife has only the thought of getting even. Sinai, is it’s motivation, is bound by the letter of the Law. But vengence belongs to God and Him only. The perfection of love throws out every preconceived notion that fear motivates us to sin. Zion tells the poetic story of surrender of oneself and to submit your life to be laid down for the sake of your brother. There’s no better cause, it is infact Zion’s purpose.

Take caution in your response to the shedding of blood today and it’s purpose. From where does it get motivation? From Sinai or Zion? Will you respond with vengence or with love? Your response will either reconcile or refuse the path to freedom and liberty in Christ Jesus.

And He was saying, “For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father.” As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore. John 6:65-66 | NASB

You know the old saying “What happens when you assume? You make an ASS of U and ME!”

Mostly this happens because of a misunderstanding. When you assume something, mostly indicative of the worse case scenario, what you are really indicating is that you know exactly what the person is thinking, or the move in which they will make (Enter the ASS part).

In the scripture above, some disciples (which John did not name) made an ass of themselves by assuming Jesus’ words meant they had to be have picked by God to be his followers. This was old thinking from the days of Moses and the Law. Instead of understanding that Jesus came to free all men and was sent by the Father, they made a spectacle by leaving. Not everyone will believe in you and your mission. That’s ok. Let them go. Jesus didn’t run after then did he? No. He actually asked his twelve if they wanted to tuck-tail-and-run as well. The mind-blowing concept of following Christ! He’ll give you the option to either go or stay.

Don’t assume! Don’t be destroyed for a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Ask the Holy Spirit to bring clarity to your relationship with Jesus. Just don’t walk away over a misunderstanding.

Pray this with me:

Heavenly Father, I want to know you and the power of your might. Strengthen me to understand your ways. I love You and need more of You, decreasing myself so You can be seen through me. Amen.

To Know

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”  Hosea 4:6 NASB

“My people are” is an indication that Scripture is forever active and present, the infallible word of God. It reads true to this day.

The embodiment of knowledge—knowing, being concerned(not with your-self but the state of our culture), premeditated thought(with purpose and intent for the good), in search of truth is without doubt in catastrophic decline. Destroyed is to be cut off, ruining, cease, and silenced. The word lack means having nothing, countless, something necessary that is missing. Knowledge simply means to be concerned, to know, premeditation, concerning truth.

Failure to recognize when knowledge and truth come packaged together has been an issue with man since Eden. The sacrifice of Christ Jesus on the cross becomes a way of escape but requires layers and levels of knowledge to the obedience of God’s word, which is the original problem— obedience. We know truth but disembody truth for temporal gratification.

Truth is found in knowledge obtained through experience. The truth I experience may not be your truthful experience. Adam and Eve were not naked from the start. The awareness of their physical nakedness only came about after the serpent dissected what little knowledge of truth that they possessed at the time. The greater carnage of man became obvious when they were in fact found naked before God— not in the physical sense of the word but the spiritual and mental uncovering with the lack of knowledge to the obedience of his exact words— “Do not eat of this specific tree.”

So here we are today, not evolved much beyond the point of Adam and Eve’s disobedience. We have relinquished the power of truth for a much weaker lie, convincing ourselves successful survival until we are confronted with immovable truth, only lying and blaming circumstances on anything but ourselves. Even after all these years, Adam (we) still blame-shift with our most convincing foot forward.

The current culture with all its perverseness still penetrates our thoughts because we are only hearers and not doers of God’s word (still the issue of obedience to God’s word). Serpent still whispers his sulfuric hair-raising breath on the necks of God’s people with enticing lies that we transform into temporal truth. “Did God say?”

Don’t be destroyed by something you’ve been given authority to defeat. You have not because you ask not— lack is the absence of something needed. You lack money, food, shelter, employment, health— most of these are avoidable— and then there are circumstances beyond our control. But everyone has the time and opportunity to gain and retain knowledge. Seeking knowledge doesn’t come natural or easy, you must desire it, you must make time— which is half the battle with culture. There is no time for anything that involves accessing the truth in learning so as to maintain correct relationship with God and people we occupy the planet with. Those who seek knowledge desire something more than what they can merely see, hear, or feel. They are searching with all diligence to understand life’s purpose and meaning through the One who created their very existence with substance that makes for a hope worth living for— those things to come.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Psalm 1:7

Creative Chaos

Almost everything innovative and creative was birth through chaos. Chaos can be controlled, by recognizing what it is. It’s just a temporary setback. Most often, chaos is characterized by less than favorable circumstances.

We currently occupy a time of Chaos with the coronavirus pandemic, political unrest, economic instability, and personal problems of health and safety concern. And there has never been a better time under heaven than right now to bring God’s creative mandate to the Earth. People need solutions to real problems. God has people strategically placed to release creativity from heaven above to do just that.

Position yourself to stand under an open heaven that dumps creativity down like a never-ending fountain! Receive the blessings from God spiritually and financially that the creative mandate brings with it. Reinvent yourself to engage the current culture, bringing love and peace of the Lord Jesus in humility. Turn chaos into the creative kingdom dynamic.
