The Danger of the False

false-preacher

There is an abundance of phony and anti-Christ teachings deceiving the world and Christians in this last hour.  Topics like hyper-grace, water baptism, being spirit-filled, and end-time apocalypse studies are just a few on the list. This righteous anger I have sparked just minutes after listening to a podcast of a well-known teacher field some questions about end-time events. He was giving an explanation to a question asked concerning the mark of the beast (He will remain anonymous to protect his misguided ignorance). The podcast was dated September 2015.

I don’t normally debate eschatology, (the study of Revelation and end-time events) but when the subject matter contradicts the Word of Truth, then I’m in.

The question was:

“Will people who take the mark in the last days be forgiven for doing so, and make it into heaven?”

His answer was yes (I will remind you that he is well-known and it may help you understand that this same teacher has authored several books).  He gave an exhausted list of reasons (mostly opinions), that didn’t make sense. His main reasoning for arriving at this answer was to show that God will go to great lengths to save His people. He used the scripture found in Matthew 12:31 to back his claims up:

“Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.” ~ Jesus

He claims that taking the mark is a sin that can be pardoned. I disagree and here’s why:

I believe taking the mark is turning your back on God, and giving up on your faith. You can’t take the mark without being made to worship the beast. The bible makes that clear.  In the last days, there will be things that take place that cannot be undone.  This is because the end of days in “chronos” time as we know it will cease to exist, and “kairos” time, or eternity, will take over (The Millennial Reign).

I believe he’s a false teacher because his opinion directly contradicts the word of God. The bible says this about taking the mark of the beast:

“And if anyone’s name was ‘NOT’ found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:15
~ If you take the mark, your name will not be found in the book of life.

“Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up FOREVER and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”
Revelation 14:9-11

To receive the mark of the beast is to give up on God, giving into the lust and desires of the world including food, clothing, shelter, jobs, houses, and money in the last days.  Without the mark, you will not participate in anything but death in God alone.  You’ll be considered an outcast and be persecuted for the sake of the gospel, and that’s OK!  By doing so, you will be granted eternal life with Jesus in a new heaven and new earth! The bible calls it the “patience and perseverance of the saints”, holding out until the end by being faithful.

It may be helpful for you to know and understand that this teacher also perpetuates the false idea that the gifts of the spirit (1 Cor. 12:7-11) died with the apostles, and he also says that water baptism is a man-made idea that really isn’t necessary because the act doesn’t change anything regarding salvation. (Remember when John baptized Jesus? The Spirit descended on Him like doves?)

Don’t be overtaken by false doctrine and ideas from those who contradict God’s word, even if they are affluent with Christian universities and well-known throughout the world.  By twisting God’s word to look intelligent and spiritual, false teachers are leading many astray. They are exceptional in doing so by using the bible only giving half-truths, and twisting God’s word. We make it easy for them because of the lack of understanding and not taking the time to study, rightly dividing the word for ourselves.

Our first family, Adam, and Eve, had the same problem in the beginning. Satan twisted the truth in saying “Did God really say you would die?” He put his own septic view and prideful arrogance in the mix of things drawing them away from the truth.

The problem with pompous false teachers today is that their truth is filtered and sifted through the fingers of their own knowledge and not from God.  Pride and popularity fuels their very existence. People worship them like gods. King Solomon asked God for wisdom from above, not from man. He didn’t seek man’s approval, only God’s.

When men and women lose sight of God and build their own kingdoms, they become dangerous teachers operating in the false.  Jude puts it like this:

“They are clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted; wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars…” (Heavily paraphrased) Jude 1:12

How can anyone described in the above scripture be trusted? It’s tough. You can’t believe what they say, even if they quote bible. Only God can pull them from their own carnage and wreckage of disillusion. Pray they stop deceiving not only themselves, but God’s people and the world.  Don’t hate them, reject the spirit that binds them. It has a name: spirit of python.  It speaks some truth but chokes the victim out with more lies.  (See the story in Acts 16:16-21, Paul and the slave girl with spirit of divination.)

God’s people need to become more like the Sons of Issachar.  It’s imperative to understand and discern the signs and times we live in.  When the word of God is negated or twisted, a bomb should go off in the hearing of every believer.  A desire to share the truth, at any cost, should be exemplified. The gates of hell will not prevail because Jesus is alive and on His throne!

I hope you received something of value from this post.

God bless you!

Michael
