2 Corinthians 12:9-10
vs.9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. vs 10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
Life is tough. Apostle Paul lists several things that point out how tough life can be. Let’s look at some so we can get a better understanding of God’s grace perfected in our lives.
1.) Weaknesses: any sickness, illness, or disease as a result of the sinful nature of man going back to the garden with Adam and Eve. We are weak at times and we need Him.
2.) Insults: ridicule and scorn attacking your personality and character. You will be made fun of at some point in your life, especially as you mature realize your true potential.
3.) Distresses: hardships, especially financial. The spirit of lack loves to attack you financially, especially when things are going good.
4.) Persecutions: different from insults, persecutions has to do with your faith. The closer you choose you walk with God, the more you’ll be scrutinized and mocked for being a Christian.
5.) Difficulties: hopelessness and complete loss of functionality in the first four listed. Everything you try to do will be difficult. Have faith! It’s only a passing season.
No matter the situation, whether it be financial, your health, or relationships with friends and family, God is always faithful to see you through.
When we are weak, He is strong! When He is strong, then we are found to be overcomers by His goodness and mercy.
Casting all your burdens at the feet of Jesus is the most liberated and faithful thing to do in any situation.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30:
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
That verse comforts me. Just reading God’s word lifts my spirit. It brings hope and life. He assures me that when I’m found weak, insulted, distressed, persecuted, and in a difficult place, His grace is enough. In my weakness, He is strong. By His power, you can overcome!
I hope this was impacting and practical. Words are empty without action. Take action by putting God in control of your life today!
